چکیده

Abstract. The properties of the layer of electrons near the quark surface of strange stars with strong (∼ 10 − 10G) magnetic field are studied in details. The electrostatic potential and the electric field at quark surface are calculated as functions of magnetic field intensity for bare strange stars. We find with ultra-strong (B ≥ 2.5 × 10G) magnetic field, the distribution of electrons, which is quite different from magnetic field-free case, becomes an exponential function of radial distance. We also calculate the variation of gap width between the strange core and the normal nuclear crust for strange stars due to magnetic field effect.

Effect of a strong magnetic field on the surface electric field of strange stars

Abstract. We made a detailed study of the properties of the electron layer near the quark surface of strange stars with strong (∼ 10 − 10G) magnetic fields. The electrostatic potential and the electric field at the quark surface were calculated as functions of the magnetic field intensity of bare strange stars. Using an ultrastrong (B ≥ 2.5× 10G) magnetic field, we found that the distribution o...

Different‎ Magnetic Field ‎Distributions‎ in Deformed Neutron Stars‎

‎In this work, we review the formalism which would allow us to model magnetically deformed neutron stars. We study the effect of different magnetic field configurations on the equation of state (EoS) and ‎the ‎structure of such stars. ‎For this aim‎, the EoS of magnetars is acquired by using the lowest order constraint variational (LOCV) method ‎‎and ‎employing‎ the AV18 potential‎.‎...

Strange stars : how dense can their crust be ? ?

The strong electric field at the surface of a strange star is discussed, and a self-consistent model is proposed to calculate its capability of supporting a “normal” nuclear material crust. We find that the electric field is already not able to support the crust even when the bottom density of the crust is still considerably lower than the neutron drip point, which means that it is not the neutr...

How large can the crust of a strange star be?

The effect of the magnetic field on the electrostatic potential of electrons inside and in close vicinity outside the quark surface of the star is studied. Depending on the value of the crust potential and the electron chemical potential at the base of the nuclear crust, we find that the strong surface magnetic field, 1.0 × 1014 ≤ H ≤ 3.0 × 1016 Gauss leads to a considerable reduction of the el...

Photon emissivity of the electrosphere of bare strange stars

We consider the spectrum, emissivity and flux of the electromagnetic radiation emitted by the thin electron layer (the electrosphere) at the surface of a bare strange star. In particular, we carefully consider the effect of the multiple and uncorrelated scattering on the radiation spectrum (the Landau-Pomeranchuk-Migdal effect), together with the effect of the strong electric field at the surfa...
